Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026
This policy explains what data the Kalinda app ("the app", "we") collects, how we use it and what rights you have over it. Kalinda is an independently developed app for tracking calories, intermittent fasting, water and weight.
Who is responsible
Yordano González Fernández. You can reach us at hola@kalinda.app about anything concerning your data.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier those services give us.
- Profile: age, sex, height, weight, activity level and goal (lose, maintain or gain weight). We use these to calculate your daily calories and macros.
- Food logs: the name, amount, calories and macronutrients of what you log, with its date and which meal it belongs to.
- Food photos: if you use photo recognition, the image is sent to our AI provider to estimate the foods and their calories. The photo is not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to process that estimate.
- Weight, water and fasting: the weigh-ins, glasses of water and fasting windows you record.
- Subscription: which plan you have and whether you are in a trial period.
What we use it for
Only to provide the service: calculating your targets, estimating meals from photos, showing your progress and history, and sending the reminders you switch on. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.
Who we share it with
- Supabase hosts the database and handles sign-in on our behalf, under the same confidentiality obligations.
- Our AI provider processes the food photos you upload, solely to return the calorie and macro estimate.
- Google Play and the App Store process payments if you subscribe. We never see or store your payment details.
- Resend delivers the app's emails (account confirmation and password recovery).
We do not share your data with advertising networks or third-party analytics services.
Health data (Health Connect and Apple Health)
Syncing with Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) is optional and only works if you turn it on in Settings → Health and grant the system permissions. If you don't turn it on, Kalinda neither reads nor writes any health data.
What we read, and only for the types you enable: weight (from your scale or other apps), the day's steps and active calories, and water logged in other apps.
What we write: your weigh-ins, the glasses of water you log and your meals with their calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat, so other health apps can see them.
Why: to show your weight without you typing it, to adjust your daily calorie target to your actual activity, and to stop you logging the same thing twice.
This data is stored in your Kalinda account with access restricted to your own user. It is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold or shared with third parties. You can disconnect syncing at any time in Settings → Health, and withdraw the permissions from the Health Connect or Health app.
Security
Data travels encrypted over HTTPS and, in the database, row-level security means each person can only read or change their own information.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. When you delete the account, your data goes with it.
Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data. To erase your account and your whole history, go to Settings → Delete account inside the app: deletion is immediate and permanent. If you would rather ask in writing, email hola@kalinda.app and we will do it within 30 days at most. There is more detail in how to delete your data.
If you live in the European Union you also have the rights to object, to restrict processing and to data portability, and you may lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
Children
Kalinda is not aimed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we update it, we will change the date at the top of this page.
